Upon notification from DHL of Hong Kong, all parcels (non-document goods) sent to India will be cleared by the local customs office and the importer will be required to provide ID number and copy of the goods, as well as proof of the associated address.
If these documents cannot be provided, customs clearance procedures cannot be arranged.
Packages sent to India must be accompanied by the following documents:
A. Individual - copy of the passport of the importing individual, or voter identification and copy, or permanent resident identification and copy, and authorization to the local DHL agent for customs clearance
B. Import and export certificate documents and copies of company-import company, company license documents and associated address certificates, etc., and authorization letter to local DHL agent for customs clearance
In order to facilitate customs clearance, the recipient shall assist in providing the following information:
A. Fill in the recipient's mobile Phone number or contact email address in the recipient's Phone/Fax or email area of the waybill
B. In the Receiver VAT/GST area of the waybill, fill in the Receiver's id number, such as import/export id number, passport number, permanent resident id number, etc
C. The addressee's address on the waybill must be the same as the addressee's address on the invoice.
Senders are requested to send the goods in accordance with the regulations and requirements, so as not to cause customs clearance delay, automatic return of the goods or local abandoned goods and other situations that may cause greater losses.
